The TADS process for evaluation is unique:
Customize —
- allow each financial aid administrator to customize the financial
need formula to reflect the philosophy and requirements of the
school.
Help —
- provide local instructions for parents. A toll-free help line
is available free of charge.
Follow Up —
- manage parental contact to complete the process
- ask for support documentation, such as W-2s, tax forms, etc.
from each applicant and compare the information on the documentation
with information on the application form.
Evaluate —
- review family corporate and partnership tax returns.
- consider the quality of the information on each application
and identify items that seem problematic so that it is easy for
the financial aid administrator to do additional research on the
application
- read all letters from an applicant family and consider special
family circumstances such as a new dependant, death, medical circumstances,
unusually high debt or a recent lay-off in determining ability
to pay.
Calculate —
- calculate the anticipated current year income, rather than simply
using the previous year's income since over 20% of applicants
have substantial changes of income from one year to the next.
- prorate the Household Contribution to Education to each student
according to the student's tuition, usually saving the financial
aid administrator substantial time.
Report —
- offer Parental Reports to families during the process to allow
review of data submitted.
- provide both summary and detail parental financial information
to administrators.
- can furnish electronic reports via our online administrator
services, email or direct download, substantially reducing the
turnaround time of processing applications.
Archive —
- make an electronic image of the application form and documentation
which is available to the financial aid administrator for archives.
We also can help you allocate your available tuition aid to all
of your students by recalculating according to your budget.

| Random FAQ: |
What is the difference between parental deadlines and report deadlines?
The parental deadline is the date that you would like parents to have their applications into our offices. The report deadline is the first date that you will see reports in your office from TADS. This report will only include those families that met the parental deadline. TADS will continue to process all applications that come in and send you reports as the late applicants are processed. The school administrator sets both of these deadlines and TADS enters these dates into the system to keep track of when they are due.
